Effective long-term weight loss goes far beyond any diet, appetite suppressant, or injection. Success means maintaining weight loss long-term. We are not just a “weight loss clinic”, but rather we are a “medical practice” dedicated to weight management and the improvement of weight-related medical conditions. We view obesity and weight gain as a chronic disease, rather than an unrealistic diet plan or a “quick 20 pounds off”. Our plans are based on scientific evidence, not marketing or promotional hype. For those individuals who have not been successful on their own, we offer a multidisciplinary approach which has been shown to work. Our team consists of a physician specialist in weight management, a nutritionist, an exercise physiologist, a behavioral specialist, and experienced medical assistants. We provide a program with education, support, and encouragement with the goal of maintaining weight loss for the long-term. We do not replace your primary care physician. We work with your personal physicians to help you achieve a healthier weight and improve your medical conditions. We have no magic pills, potions, powders; no body wraps, HCG, or herbal cures.
At Healthy Weight 4 Me, we have several plans which are individualized depending on your health issues. Our program includes the nutritionally complete New Direction® system for women who have over 40 pounds to lose and men who need to lose over 50 pounds. We will also provide a maintenance program for those who have already lost weight. The causes of weight gain can go far beyond just diet and exercise. We evaluate all contributors to weight gain including hormonal conditions, sleep factors, stress, other medical conditions, and existing medications. We prescribe FDA- approved appetite suppressants, when appropriate, and other prescription medications which can help and enhance weight loss and metabolic balance. We do administer B12 injections and lipotropic injections for patients who have found these helpful, but we do not consider these to be essential for weight loss or maintenance.
Visits vary from weekly to monthly. We formulate a plan with you to meet your individual needs. We have weekly educational classes on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Education, accountability, and effective, available support are keys to your success.
